Sorry, I have not heard of the term "shot caller" unless it applies to the officers giving the shots which is a disciplinary action. 
Again, I have not seen anything related to a brown arm band in the prison camp I was in. This may be something in another facilities.
I do know that some inmates wear different colored clothing in regards to job positions as trustees.</description>
